Randy Oldham

Biography

Randy Oldham is a System Support Technician at the McLaughlin Library at the University of Guelph where he is responsible for the setup and maintenance of approximately 1000 staff and public computers and 13 windows-based servers. Randy is quite active on several committees, including the Information Technology Special Interest Group (ITSIG) where IT administrators from the University of Guelph gather and discuss IT related issues affecting campus, the Information Technology Student Advisory Committee (ITSAC) where University of Guelph student representatives gather to provide input and feedback on IT related issues of interest/impact to students, and the Emerging Services Steering Committee (ESST) subcommittee focusing on student expectations where he was involved in surveying the entire student body at the University of Guelph to collect information concerning students' current use of technology in their social and academic lives. Randy completed his undergraduate degree in philosophy with a minor in psychology from the University of Guelph in 2004, and he is currently working on completing his Masters of Library and Information Science degree parttime at UWO.
