Ray Albert

Biography

Raymond Albert, Ph.D. is Professor of Computer Science for the University of Maine at Fort Kent and adjunct professor for Nova Southeastern University. He has been involved with traditional and distance education since 1988 and with online asynchronous learning environments since 1996. He has over 18 years of university teaching experience including traditional synchronous instruction, interactive television instruction, and web-based asynchronous instruction from a distance to locally situated students. Recent publications include “The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Online: Maintaining Balance” (2003) and “’New and Improved’ Accountability” (2003). He has served as Software Quality Engineer for very large-scale software systems such as the NASA Space Station Freedom Project. He also has extensive experience designing and implemented commercial online faculty/course evaluation systems.
