Biography
Rebecca Cowles Swanson is Associate Vice Provost for Distance Education Planning and Development at North Carolina State University. She provides leadership and support for the development and administration of the university’s distance education programs. She has been involved in various aspects of distance education planning and administration at NC State since 1996. The DE organization recruits faculty and provides development and ongoing support services, establishes the DE course schedule each semester, facilitates registration and student services, provides publicity and resource information for the DE programs through the DE website and production of DE publicity, oversees DE evaluation processes, and advocates for refinements or changes in procedures and services to enhance the distance education experience for students and faculty.
