In August 2012, Rebecca became the CIO at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. Since that time, she and the IT staff have been busy upgrading the network, systems and ERP while implementing the latest information security solutions. IT has been improving customer service through help desk improvements, adopting a student-centered philosophy and dedicating a lot of time and energy to cutting edge technology tools that enhance teaching, learning, research and scholarship.
As the Deputy CIO at Bowdoin in Brunswick, Maine from 2006 to July 2012, Rebecca Sandlin worked with the CIO to provide ongoing integration between strategic and tactical responsibilities while ensuring outstanding client services for faculty, staff and students. Rebecca managed the IT budget, developed policy, negotiated contracts and directed the following areas: Desktop Services, Educational & Research Consulting, Equipment Services (AV), Labs, Networking, Technical Purchasing, Telecommunications and Data Systems.
