Ric Simmons

Biography

Ric Simmons is the Deputy CIO and Executive Director of the University Networking and Infrastructure (UNI) team and High Performance Computing (HPC) in the Office of Information Technology Services at Louisiana State University. UNI is responsible for the campus voice and data networks, the Data and Network Operations Center, e-mail, DNS/DHCP, inside/outside copper/fiber cable plant, server infrastructure and hardware support (both Windows, Linux, VM), and WiFi. He earned a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from LSU as well as a master's degree in Engineering Science (MSES), and is a PhD student (ABD, Engineering Science). He is also a registered professional engineer (P.E.) in the state of Louisiana.
