Biography

I have built a career in accelerating change for creative, technical organizations. Recently, as the Director of User Experience at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (a $80 million dollar DOE supercomputing facility), I created the requirements documents for DOE Exascale strategy, I taught organizational habits in process improvement, I developed user-centered design and customer experience practices, I mentored multiple staff members into managers, and we broke down siloing to foster a “one-organization” attitude among the staff. At the University of Washington, I helped usher in a new era of research-focused computing and improved educational IT infrastructure for faculty, staff, and students in multiple science departments. Finally, at the SCI Institute at the University of Utah, I tied together my broad set of skills to help grow this startup-like organization within a university – it is now over 200 researchers and students strong.

I bring an energetic, centered and humble leadership style that is best suited for organizations wishing to leverage both their technical strength and verdant imagination. I strongly prefer inclusive, diverse and collaborative organizations – this is absolutely essential when we, as an organization, wish to truly delight all of our users.
