Biography
Rich Fagen was appointed Caltech’s first Chief Information Officer in 2005 and has led Information Management Systems and Services (IMSS) since its inception. Prior to that, he served for many years as the Director of Caltech’s Information Technology Services organization. He also spent two years at idealab (an internet company incubator located in Pasadena) where he served as a Vice-President and Managing Director. Rich began his career at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory where he was the Supervisor of the Computing Services group. He currently serves on the board of directors for networking organizations CENIC and Los Nettos, and is a member of the Internet-2 Net+ Program Advisory Group. He is a graduate of UCLA.
