Rick Shaw

Biography

In January of 2023, after 30+ years of managing tech operations in higher ed and the private sector, I'll be retiring from full-time management of tech ops and looking forward to the next chapter. Plans include writing more science fiction, taking the odd consulting gig, and playing with grandkids.

My postings have included the Antelope Valley Community College District, the Ventura County Community College District, CSU Northridge, CSU Fresno's Auxillary, CSU Office of the Chancellor, & UC San Francisco. As well as private sector experience in media with Herring Communications/Red Herring Magazine.

I have a Masters's Degree in Knowledge Management from CSU Northridge, a Bachelors's in History from CSU Fresno, and I have done doctoral work in Medical Information Science at UC San Francisco.

Evenings and weekends I escape reality, creating my own worlds of the paranormal, sci-fi/post apocolyptic, and thriller genres. In June of 2023 my first novel, The Tunguska Deception was published by 2FBooks. You can find my novels and short stories on my Amazon Author's page. Or check my website at rickshaw.com.
