Richard Virr

Biography

Richard Virr is the Curator of Manuscripts in the Rare Books and Special Collections Division of the McGill University Libraries, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He has a special interest in incunabula and David Hume. He has an on-going research project on the ownership of 15th-cewntury printed books in Canadian collections and is preparing an edition of a selection of 18th-century French translations of Hume that appeared in contemporary journals. As well, he is a faculty lecturer in the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies, McGill University. He has a doctorate in church history from McGill University. He is editor of the Journal of the Canadian Church Historical Society and is Archivist, Diocese of Montreal, and Archivist, Ecclesiastical Province of Canada, Anglican Church of Canada.
