Biography
Rick Smith is the Network Manager for the Center of Alcohol and Addiction Studies at Brown University in Providence RI, where he plays the role in strategic planning and policy development for information technology infrastructure and desktop services for this department. Recent projects include implemented an advanced network infrastructure to increase efficiency, reliability, and performance by 80%. The success of this project was due to strategic planning, and the ability to foster and maintain a great rapport with remote IT members within Brown University. Implemented secure remote access to PC users, which removed additional staffing cost of $120,000+ over the last 4 years and increased resolution by 60%. Currently (Spring 06) studying for PMP Certification.
