Rita Barrantes
Biography
Rita Barrantes is the Director of Network/Telecomm Services at the University of Houston IT department. Services under her responsibility include telecommunications and network services, Wi-Fi, IT assessments, IT Service Management and Assurance, Media/Security systems, and Technology Infrastructure Projects. Dr. Barrantes has 20+ years of experience in the IT industry. She is an adjunct faculty at UH College of Technology and is a frequent speaker on topics related to project management, IT leadership, ITIL, and IT service management. She holds a PhD in Information Technology, an MBA with emphasis in IT, and a B.S. in systems/software engineering. She is a certified Meru Wireless engineer, a certified project management professional (PMP), and a certified ITIL practitioner.EDUCAUSE Presentations
