Robert Lockwood has been a professor at Portland State University for the past 36 years. He has taught courses on American Courts, Criminal Procedure, Supreme Court Dynamics, Critical Legal Skills and Legal Research. In the past few years, he has focused his teaching efforts in the area of online education. His approach to education has been to create a student-centered learning environment using selected Total Quality Management concepts, student motivational strategies and team teaching. He has used Blackboard and D2L features to promote interactive learning. Professor Lockwood has consistently received high evaluation scores from students in his course evaluations. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he is a pre-law adviser and serves as the university Faculty Athletic Representative, monitoring all sports for Portland State University’s Division I intercollegiate athletic program.
