Robert Lunday

Biography

Robert Lunday is in the English Studies Department at Houston Community College/Southeast, where he teaches Distance Education as well as hybrid courses in Composition and Literature. He received his Ph.D. in 2002 from the University of Houston, where he also received his M.A. in 1985; both degrees are in English/Creative Writing. His A.B. was from Sarah Lawrence College in New York (1980). Robert has held fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts (1988-86, 87-88) where he was also Writing Committee Coordinator in 1991-92; he also received a Stegner Fellowship at Stanford University in 1989-91, and was Writer in Residence at St. Albans School in Washington, D.C. in 1986-87. His poems and essays have apeared in various journals, and his first collection of poems, "Mad Flights," appeared in 2002 from Ashland Poetry Press.
