Bob Rubinyi

Biography

Bob Rubinyi is the Senior Analyst for Online Learning with the Office of Distributed Learning at the University of Minnesota, U of M Provost's Office. He currently serves as the chair of the Steering Committee for the U of M Online initiative which brings together online and blended learning opportunities for current and prospective students at the University. During 2011-12, he jointly led the U of M eTextbook pilot project and helped initiate the national evaluation effort with the four other participating institutions. His work for the Provost's Office has also included co-managing the campus-wide myU portal designed to better integrate core academic technologies across the University system and serving on the initial CRM project management team. Before joining the Provost Office, he served as the Assistant IT Director for the U of M Extension where he co-led the national Extension Children, Youth and Families Education and Research Network (CYFERnet), co-authored a Department of Commerce funded grant project demonstrating how the Internet could be used to promote economic development in rural Minnesota, and served as the technology unit lead for the U of M Extension's original website. Bob received his B.A. from the University of California, San Diego and M.A. and PhD from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
