Robyn Wood

Biography

I’m Robyn Marquez Wood, I have served as Assistant Director for the Office of Technology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Pharmacy  since 2016, I bring a strong background in education and technology to my role. My career began in 2007 as a student worker in IT at my alma mater, McMurry University. In 2013, I advanced to an IT Technician III position at TTUHSC- School of Pharmacy, where I continued to build expertise in healthcare, higher education, and technology-driven innovation..

One of my most exciting recent endeavors has been serving as a selected member of the Dean’s Pioneer Pathway Task Force. This team led the charge in developing an innovative hybrid learning model making our pharmacy school the first in Texas, and one of only two public universities, to offer a primarily distance-based Pharm.D. program. This initiative reflects my deep passion for the intersection of education and technology and my commitment to transforming learning environments to be more accessible and effective.

As a lifelong learner, I’m nearing completion of my Ph.D. in higher education, driven by my commitment to empowering individuals in academia and improving learning environments. I firmly believe that technology has the potential to revolutionize the way we teach and learn, and I am dedicated to staying at the forefront of this ever-evolving field. So, whether it’s exploring new tools and platforms, conducting research, or collaborating with colleagues, I am always looking for ways to enhance the educational experience for both students and educators.

I also serve on the West Texas Area Health Education Center Advisory Board for several years and contribute to my alma mater, McMurry University, as a member of the Science and Math Advisory Board. Outside of work, I love to travel, go glamping, and enjoy pasta Sundays with my family.
