Roger Moye

Biography

Roger Moye is a Linux Cluster Administrator in the Research Computing Support Group (RCSG) within the Department of Academic and Research Computing at Rice University. He earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Lamar University (1993) and is currently pursuing a MS Systems Engineering degree from University of Houston - Clear Lake. He is also a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE, 2007). Roger has been employed by IT at Rice University for 13 years and has been a member of RCSG for the last four years . He has many roles in RCSG including systems administration of the university's research compute clusters, web development of the group's web sites, and technical writing for both internal and external documentation. He is also responsible for LAMP programming of an account management system and other web-related applications which support cluster operations. Prior to RCSG Roger was a Unix Systems Administrator in Rice's School of Natural Sciences for nine years where he was responsible for managing various email, web, and file servers, and unix/linux desktops. Roger is also currently a member of the National Science Foundation's TeraGrid Campus Champions Program and is a member of the Lamar University Computer Science Department's Industrial Advisory Board.
