Roger Ward

Biography

Dr. Roger Ward is the provost and executive vice president at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. He joined UMB in March 2009 as associate vice president for academic and student affairs and has held various roles including dean of the Graduate School, chief accountability officer, vice president for academic affairs, interim chief human resources officer, and senior vice president for operations and institutional effectiveness. Prior to UMB, Dr. Ward was assistant vice president for student affairs at the New School in NYC and had senior administrative positions in the City University of New York system.

Dr. Ward holds a doctor of education degree in higher education administration from the University of Pennsylvania; a doctor of law degree from New York Law School; a master in cybersecurity law from the University of Maryland School of Law; certificates in cybersecurity policy and technology, and in crisis leadership from Harvard University Kennedy School of Government; a master in public administration and a bachelor in government, both from John Jay College of Criminal Justice (New York, NY) ; and an associate degree in data processing/computer programming from Kingsborough Community College (Brooklyn, New York).
