Ron Bergmann

Biography

Dr. Ronald Bergmann is the Associate Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at CSU Dominguez Hills. He also serves as the Information Security Officer for CSUDH. He has extensive experience in information technology and academic and instructional technology through his 25 plus years working in the field. His most recent work has been as the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning and Assistant Professor of Education at the University of La Verne. He served as the Director of Academic and Instructional Technology at Loyola Marymount University. He worked with the California State University Office of the Chancellor where he developed a partnership between the CSU and Teleste, Oy in creating virtual learning labs. He coupled these labs with the creation of faculty communities that taught foreign language and culture through consortia. Ron also developed a world class language laboratory at CSU Monterey Bay incorporating advanced sign language stations. Ron has been invited to speak on virtual learning at conferences throughout the United States and Europe. He holds a Doctorate of Educational Technology from Pepperdine University, a Masters of Science in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Chapman University. He has attended Information Security Courses and has a certificate from the SANS Institute. Ron is a DOD certified Radio Frequency Engineer and retired from the US Military as a Communications Operations Chief/First Sergeant. His highest military decoration is the Bronze Star Medal.
