Mr. Ronald Jefferson has recently accepted a position as Vice President for Information Technology/CIO for Saint Augustine's College in Raleigh, NC. As Chief Information Officer, he will provide leadership and management in all areas of information technology including academic and administrative computing systems, voice and data communication, training, and classroom and end-user support.
He formerly served as the Information Technology Manager for the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation in Williamsburg, VA. He was responsible for coordinating and directing all facets of technology Strategic Planning including the foundations' commemoration of historic Jamestown in the year 2007. His responsibilities include, but are not limited to, voice, video, data, and distributed systems throughout the facilities that exist within the Williamsburg and Yorktown area.
In addition he serves as technical consultant to the HBCU Community for the Advanced Networking for Minority Serving Institutions project (AN-MSI). He was also instrumental in developing the AN-MSI Mainstream Network Model, a document that serves as a guideline for planning small to medium-sized networks for Minority Serving Institutions (MSI's). AN-MSI is a National Science Foundation (NSF) initiative funded through Educause that promotes research and technology infrastructure initiatives at HBCU's, Tribal Colleges, and Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) across the country. Mr. Jefferson also teaches Cisco Networking Academy classes when time permits.
Mr. Jefferson has a Bachelor's degree in Systems and Organizational Management from Hampton University and has been working in the area of Information Technology for over 10 years. He is a Certified Cisco Networking Academy Instructor and is a Certified Windows NT Systems and Networking Professional. He enjoys listening to music, weight training, and spending time with his family. He and his wife Joy live in Yorktown, VA with their two daughters Kayla And Christina.
