Russ Prentice

Biography

Russell is an Information Technology professional with over 30-years of experience gained within seven diverse industry sectors. Devising, directing and designing solutions to real-world business issues, Russell is known for his visionary, innovative and pragmatic approach to business issues. He was the first to break away from traditional mini-computer systems within the Oil & Gas exploration industry. He designed a new model for scalable database connectivity, later adopted by Oracle Corp, and nominated for a design council award for his revolutionary use of network technology while directing the technology strategy at a U.K. publisher. A born leader, he mentors and develops his staff leading across the enterprise hierarchy. An adept project manager, Russell is a Project Management Professional in good standing and a member or Project Management International. As a consultant, Russell led the operations control room of a global travel organization during the collapse of an airline stranding passengers in Ireland. The incident, demonstrating empowerment, was later used as a commercial for the company. Russell is currently Director, Infrastructure Services at Dean College, Franklin, MA. Since joining Dean, he has led the renovation, strategy, and architectural design of Dean’s technology infrastructure. Over a two-year period he has turned-around the ailing technology infrastructure and positioned Dean College ready for the future. Russell received an MBA from the Sawyer Business School in Boston, MA graduating with honors from Beta Gamma Sigma. He also attained a BSc in Business from Capella University, MN, graduating summa cum laude.
