Ruth Cox

Biography

Ruth Cox has designed and implemented curriculum and educational programming in academic and corporate settings since 1989. She has taught a range of courses using distance education strategies at San Francisco State University and Santa Clara University. As a visiting scientist at Cisco Systems, she advised the World Wide Education Group on new collaborative learning software and online teaching solutions for K-12 and higher education applications. Her fields of specialization include Social Psychology, Creativity and Health, Health Communication and Teaching and Learning Technologies. Dr. Cox coordinates the ePortfolio Initiative at San Francisco State University working campus-wide with faculty on comprehensive assessment strategies using student electronic portfolios: http://eportfolio.sfsu.edu, and teaches Masters students (MPH) in the Health Education Department at San Francisco State. ePortfolio: http://ruthcox1.sfsu.efolioworld.com As a social psychologist, she has taught a range of courses on creativity, human potential and healing. For more than 30 years, Ruth has also worked as an actress in theater, film, and television, in productions from Shakespeare to Happy Days, and continues to act in San Francisco.
