During the last 10 years, I’ve rotated between two primary roles and have been an Adjunct Instructor teaching a Management Information Systems course in the Williamson College of Business Administration (WCBA) at Youngstown State University (YSU).  Between 1,500-2,000 students among ~30 class sections have passed through my course which I improve each semester.   

Director of IT Customer Services:  Directs operational, financial, and personnel resources to deliver reliable, student‑centered technology services that support teaching, learning, and our institutional mission. Provides leadership for teams responsible for instructional technology, classroom systems, user support, and enterprise computing environments. Oversees staffing strategy, performance management, professional development, and daily operational execution to ensure high‑quality service delivery. Leads development and implementation of technology strategies, policies, and solutions that enhance instructional effectiveness and integrate technology into pedagogy.  Manages support for campus computing, academic labs, servers, software, classroom multimedia, distance‑learning technologies, service desk operations, and media services. Engage proactively with academic and administrative stakeholders to identify needs, prioritize initiatives, and maintain service excellence across the university.  Administers departmental budgets and special project funds with strong fiscal stewardship. Provides strategic leadership for the evolution of classroom technologies and distance‑learning infrastructure. Evaluates emerging technologies, identifies training needs, and promotes effective adoption across campus.  Maintains strong internal and external partnerships and represents IT on committees and working groups supporting institutional initiatives and shared governance.

Director of IT Infrastructure Services:  Leads Infrastructure Services by directing system, network, and endpoint associate directors and guiding priorities for all infrastructure projects and operational activities. Ensures technical leaders effectively support the PMO through strong project management and administrative execution. Oversees planning, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise systems, networks, telecommunications (analog and VoIP), databases, and server‑based applications, while ensuring a stable and secure operating environment through continuous monitoring and proactive issue resolution.  Serves as primary point of contact for infrastructure vendors, managing maintenance agreements, developing technical bid specifications, and leading contract negotiations for hardware, software, and third‑party services. Provides strategic oversight of infrastructure lifecycle planning, operational reliability, and quality of service across the institution.
