Ryan Moelling

Biography

I'm an I.T. Enterprise Software Administrator and Systems Programmer at Casper College, where I work across systems development, integrations, data governance, and enterprise software administration — supporting platforms like Ellucian Colleague (SIS/ERP), Azure Entra ID, and a wide range of connected campus systems. My work touches everything from database administration and API integration to systems security, disaster recovery planning, and DevOps auditing.

I hold a Bachelor's in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas and Associate degrees in Cybersecurity and Computer Science, and I'm currently pursuing a Master's in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance through Western Governors University. My professional focus sits at the intersection of higher ed IT operations and cybersecurity — I'm working toward CompTIA CySA+ certification and already hold the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity credential.

I'm an active EDUCAUSE Ambassador and alum of the Early-Career Accelerator Program, and I enjoy staying engaged with the broader IT and security community through events like the Rocky Mountain Cybersecurity Symposium, SANS Institute trainings, and Wild West Hackin' Fest. Outside of the technical side of things, I have a long-standing interest in leadership development, having held roles in several honor and leadership societies during my academic career, and I'm passionate about applying secure, well-designed systems to help higher education institutions run more effectively.
