Biography

With over 26 years of technology experience in both the nonprofit and higher education sectors, I have had the privilege of wearing many hats within an IT organization. My roles have ranged from Desktop Support Specialist, Systems Administrator, Web Administrator, and Academic Technology Specialist and Trainer to more recent positions as a Director, Executive Director, and Chief Information Officer. Throughout my career, I have held key leadership positions such as Director of Administrative Technology at Salish Kootenai College, Director of Academic Technology Services & Innovation at the University of Portland, Chief Information Officer at Linfield University, and most recently, Executive Director of Business Architecture for Oregon State University’s University Information & Technology. 

I’m passionate about finding solutions for our community that creates efficiencies, push the boundaries on innovation but is balanced with a view on the wise integration of technology in teaching, learning and within the enterprise.  I strive to create accessible and inclusive experiences ensuring that whatever we deliver removes barriers and focuses on universal design.   

I am a Native Montanan and an enrolled member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. Raised by my mother and her family, I learned the importance of community, art, and celebrating the beauty of the world around us. I draw inspiration from a community dedicated to preserving traditions while navigating life as contemporary Indigenous people. I continue the tradition of Native American beadwork, which complements my passion for photography and the digital arts. 

I am committed to not only exploring innovative technologies but also fostering an environment for critical conversations using the Gracious Space framework. My journey with Gracious Space began during my participation in Leadership Montana in 2009/2010. Gracious Space emphasizes the importance of inviting diverse voices to the table, encouraging collaboration across groups, organizations, and communities. Since joining Oregon State University, I have introduced the Gracious Space framework, which has been embraced by the OSU University IT Leadership. In October 2024, I had the opportunity to present on Gracious Space at the inaugural Elevating Women in Technology - Northwest Academic Computing Consortium (NWACC) Workshop. 

When seeking new opportunities to collaborate, I prioritize aligning with organizations that emphasize diversity and inclusion. I aim to be part of a community where both my team and I can live our authentic lives.
