Biography
Dr Sambhavi Chandrashekar is the Global Accessibility Lead of D2L Corporation, a global education technology company head-quartered in Ontario, Canada. Focused on humanizing online education and building an inclusive education ecosystem, Sam is passionate about making education accessible to all learners through accessible technology and inclusive pedagogy.
Sam has a doctorate from the University of Toronto and two master’s degrees from University College London, UK and Indian Institute of Technology, India. She holds academic positions with 3 universities in Canada and supervises Masters and Doctoral research. Sam advocates and practices Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as a means for catering to human variability in teaching and learning.
Sam actively influences policy and legislation as Vice-Chairperson of Accessibility Standards Canada's Accessible & Equitable Artificial Intelligence Committee, Vice-Chairperson of Accessibility Standards Canada's ICT Products & Services Committee, Co-Chair of Global Leadership Council of the International Association of Accessibility Professionals, Advisory Council Member of the Canadian Accessibility Network and many more.
