Samuel Sudhakar

Biography

Dr. Samuel Sudhakar serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President for Finance, Technology and Operations  at California State University, San Bernardino where he provides visionary leadership to a broad range of administrative areas central to the core operations of the University including: Finance and Administrative Services; Information Technology Services, University Police Department that includes Parking & Transportation Services; Facilities Planning & Management, University Internal Audit, and Auxiliary and Business Services.

Under his leadership are six senior leaders including Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Data Officer, Chief of Police, Associate Vice President for Finance, and Administration and Internal Auditor. Manage the University Budget of $337M.

He serves as Senior member of the President's Cabinet as Co chair of the University Budget Advisory Committee, IT Governance Executive Committee, and the Campus Police Advisory Committee.
He is a member of the President's DEI Board and key member of the Strategic Plan Implementation Team.

In his previous role as VP/CIO at CSUSB, Sudhakar provided leadership to Academic, Administrative, Infrastructure Technologies, and Information Security and Compliance initiatives.  Under his leadership, CSUSB was awarded University Business Magazine’s “Models of Excellence” honors in Summer 2016 round of this national recognition program for the Vital and Expanded Technologies Initiative (VETI). Dr. Sudhakar co-chaired the strategic planning process at the University, working with the campus community and the external stakeholders successfully completed the strategic planning and implementation plan in October 2015. Subsequently the Information Technology Services Division launched a successful strategic planning process and completed an ambitious four-year plan in April 2016.

Prior to joining CSUSB in 2013, Dr. Sudhakar served as the Vice President of Administrative Services and CIO at Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois. Under his leadership, Carl Sandburg College was ranked No.1 in the nation for digital technology, by the Center for Digital Education, and has been named among the top 10 in that category from 2006-2013. Sudhakar was named among the top 50 educational technology innovators in 2011 by Converge Magazine. Dr. Sudhakar holds s PhD in Business Administration from Northcentral University, an MBA from St. Joseph’s University and a Bachelor of Engineering from Bharathiar University in India.
