Biography

Sam Williams, MSEd (he, him, his) joined Linfield University in June of 2020 as the new Chief Information Office.  Sam’s team is responsible for managing the technology infrastructure at Linfield’s McMinnville and Portland campuses.  Sam has 22 years of technology experience in nonprofit and higher education.  The last 18 years have been with Salish Kootenai College (Director of Administrative Technology), University of Portland (Director of Academic Technology Services & Innovation), and recently as the CIO for Linfield.  

He has sent many goals for his career.  One of the goals, outside of technology, is to align himself with organizations that have a focus on diversity and inclusion. Sam wants to be part of a community where his team can live authentic lives.  Sam is a member of the LGBT community, First Gen, and a proud member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of Northwest Montana.  Sam carries on the tradition of Native American beadwork, which compliments his love for photography and the digital arts.  https://www.samuelwilliams.net/
