Sarah Bryans-Bongey

Biography

Sarah Bryans-Bongey is Associate Professor of Education and coordinator of the educational technology endorsement program at Nevada State College. Previously, she worked in the Information Technologies Department at The College of St. Scholastica and taught courses in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), research, and educational technology. She is a licensed 7-12 English Language Arts teacher and Media Specialist, and previously worked in the public schools as a teacher-librarian. Dr. Bryans-Bongey's research interests include blended and online learning, supporting diverse learners, student engagement, and schools of the future. She holds an Ed.D. In Teaching and Learning from the University of Minnesota, and an M.Ed. in Educational Media and Technology from the College of St. Scholastica. She holds undergraduate degrees in film studies and English language arts. Her research on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and teaching with technology has led to various publications in the Journal of Digital Learning in Teacher Education, Contemporary Issues in Education Research, Internet Learning Journal, Campus-Wide Information Systems (2005, 2007, 2010), and an edited book on Online Teaching in K-12.
