Biography
Coordinator of University IT Accessibility- Information Technology Division, NC State University With over 20 years experience in the assistive technology/technology accessibility field, provide leadership, advocacy, and expertise to promote the principles of Universal Design and universal access to the universitys IT resources. In addition to consulting and training on accessible web/electronic electronic content development, work with vendors and developers to conduct testing and evaluation of software applications and tools with a focus on proactive and scalable solutions for accessibility challenges. Example: integrating AT for screen readers/magnification within virtual computing labs using Remote Desktop Protocol.From 1988-1999, owned and was Executive Director of Adaptive Technology Centers (ATC), Raleigh, NC. Under contract with various states
rehabilitation agencies, federal, state and local governments, public schools, and universities, ATC provided evaluation, integration and assistive technology training for people with disabilities to expand work and educational opportunities.
