Biography

Shafaq serves as the Lead Research Facilitator and Assistant Director for Graduate & Research IT at the University of Central Florida, managing a team of research facilitators and IT professionals. She served on the Trusted CI’s Framework Advisory Board in 2020 and as a Trusted Cyberinfrastructure Fellow in 2019. She also leads the Aspirations in Computing Central FL program for the National Center for Women & Information Technology with the aim to encourage high school womxn to pursue careers in computing and IT. She has a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, and her research interests include public safety communications, wireless networks, and Software-Defined Networking.
