BiographyShannon McCarty is the Dean of Instruction and Academic Affairs at Rio Salado College. She currently leads the curriculum, external funding, grants, Institutional Integrity and Institutional Research departments. Prior to her role as the Dean, she served as the Faculty Chair for the Physical Sciences Department. She held this position for 8 years. Shannon is currently Rio Salado's project co-lead on the Department of Education's First in the World grant. Shannon also directed Rio Saladoâ€™s work on the Next Generation Learning Grant focused on student retention and success. She holds a BA in Biology from the University of Arizona, a MA in Educational Leadership from Arizona State University and a PhD in Professional Studies from Capella University.
