Biography
Shashi Kaparthi was the inaugural CIO for the University of Northern Iowa from Oct 2010 to Sep 2014. Currently he is Associate Professor of Information Systems and Operations Management at the University of Northern Iowa. He received his Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1992. Prior to that he received a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India in 1985. He is tenured in the Department of Management and has over 20 years of teaching and research experience, 4 years of c-level administrative experience and 3 years as director of institutional research. He specializes in IT strategy, business analytics, decision support systems, internet technologies, bibliometric analyses, neural network models and applications in management research. In addition to his book “Macromedia ColdFusionâ€, he has 16 refereed publications in journals such as Decision Sciences, Journal of Decision Systems, International Journal of Production Research, European Journal of Operational Research, and Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing, to name a few.
