Biography

Shelli Fowler is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at  Virginia Commonwealth University. Her focus on active learning in all environments (f2f, digital, hybrid), and on fostering student agency as critically engaged co-learners, informs the work she does at VCU and nationally. She has taught in EDUCAUSE and HERS Leadership Institutes. Her current research areas and publications focus on critical pedagogy and the integration of teaching, learning, and technologies. She is the recipient of several teaching awards. Shelli earned her doctorate from The University of Texas at Austin.
