Biography
Sheri Downer is currently the Department Head for the Department of Educational foundations, Leadership and Technology in the College of Education at Auburn University. Prior to this position she was the Interim Dean of Libraries at Auburn University for three and one half years. Previous positions have included assistant dean for technical services and systems and the head of the systems department in the Auburn University Libraries. She has been involved in administering library systems for years and has become actively involved in developing and administering successful library digital projects. Under her leadership Auburn Libraries is one of the lead participants in the Alabama Cornerstone Project, an IMLS funded digital grant project; a partner in the AmericanSouth.com project and sponsored the Transforming America Civil Rights digital project. University . Sheri has been active state-wide, regionally and nationally in library associations and digital project planning including the development of the Alabama Virtual Library.
