Biography
Shirley Kaltenbach is the coordinator of the M.Ed. Reading program at the University of Alaska Southeast, a nationally recognized program (International Reading Association) for educators who want to become reading specialists in K-12 contexts. Shirley's teaching focus in that program is reading assessment and the development of readers. Her research interests lie in faculty collaboration for program improvement and the use of case study methods to assess reader development. Shirley completed her Ph.D. in Education at the Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania, under the direction of Marilyn Cochran-Smith.EDUCAUSE Presentations
