Shirley Waterhouse

Biography

Dr. Shirley Waterhouse is the Director of Educational Technology at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), the world’s leading aviation/aerospace educational institution with two residential campuses and over 130 teaching centers located worldwide. Before her administrative role, she was a professor in the ERAU Department of Computer Science where she won the outstanding teaching award, bestowed by graduating seniors, eleven out of fourteen semesters. She currently teaches a graduate course at ERAU on elearning pedagogy. As an international consultant focusing on elearning pedagogy and elearning strategic planning, she has conducted hundreds of workshops for faculty and administrators throughout the world and has been a keynote speaker at numerous elearning conferences worldwide. She has written six books and her most recent is The Power of Elearning: The Essential Guide for Teaching in the Digital Age, Allyn & Bacon Publishers. She is also a member of the Blackboard Product Advisory Board.
