Fannie (Fanny) Tsai

Biography

Fanny Tsai is an Instructional Designer at the University of California, Irvine’s Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation (DTEI), and an active member of the UC Irvine IT Accessibility Group. She also serves on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Rubric Working Group within the UC Instructional Designer and Faculty Support (IDFS) Community.

Fanny brings a collaborative spirit and practical insight to course design, faculty development, and digital teaching strategies. Her work focuses on accessible course materials, inclusive teaching practices, and integrating tools like FeedbackFruits, Padlet, Poll Everywhere, Mentimeter, and Canvas LMS. She supports faculty in active learning, micro-lecture videos, peer review design, gamification, and scaffolded assignments.

Fanny holds certifications in Teaching with AI, Inclusive STEM Teaching, Padlet, etc.,  and is currently participating in the DET/CHE Leadership Institute. She is always open to connecting with others interested in accessibility, instructional innovation, inclusive teaching, or the thoughtful use of AI in education.

Her approach is rooted in a strong commitment to ADA compliance and universal design, ensuring that all students have equal access to learning regardless of background or ability.
