Biography
Siegfriedt Schmidt is an Architect and Senior Lecturer at The Department of Architecture at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT). Currently busy with his Doctorate in the field of Telematic education for the architectural profession, and one of the pioneers in the application of e-learning in the classroom at TUT.
He is the two-time recipient of the University's Laureatus Award as Telematic Lecturer of the Year, and three times recipient of the award for the best Departmental lecture of the year. Except for lecturing he is currently busy with research into the implementation of technology in learning with the aim to increase the retention rate and decrease the high attrition rate experienced amongst students of architecture in most schools world-wide. This includes simultaneous investigation of the restructuring of the admission process and development of a course structure with multiple exit levels.
