Biography

Sonja L. Howell, PhD, is an Instructional Designer and AI Systems Strategist at Jackson College and the founder of Tranquil Studio, Inc. Her work focuses on aligning digital learning systems with real-world application, with an emphasis on AI integration, accessibility, and instructional design strategy. She is the creator of Transformative Mindset Instructional Design (TMID), a framework that supports meaningful engagement and system-level alignment in education. Sonja brings a practical perspective to emerging technologies, focusing on how AI can be implemented in ways that support consistent, measurable outcomes. She is also the licensee and host of TEDxJackson College.
