Sonja Howell
Biography
Dr. Sonja L. Howell is an instructional designer, educator, keynote speaker, and nonprofit founder passionate about helping people move from knowing to becoming. She serves as an Instructional Designer and Developer at Jackson College, where she leads initiatives in online learning, faculty development, educational technology, artificial intelligence, and digital innovation.
With more than two decades of experience spanning higher education, mediation, communication, and design, Dr. Howell specializes in creating practical frameworks that help individuals and institutions navigate change with clarity and confidence. Her work focuses on the intersection of AI, learning, leadership, and human-centered design, emphasizing the importance of action, reflection, and meaningful transformation in educational environments.
Dr. Howell is the creator of The Creator’s Map framework, founder of Tranquil Studio, Inc., and host of The Creator’s Map Podcast. She holds a PhD in Education with a specialization in Instructional Design and Technology from Liberty University and frequently presents on topics including artificial intelligence, instructional design, communication, leadership, and innovation in higher education.
