Sophie Kuchynka
Biography
As a research scientist, Sophie works on the design, implementation, and testing of research-backed resources, tools, and services with a variety of EA’s partners. She draws from her social psychological research background to emphasize the role of social structures, systems, and environments in improving educational and workplace experiences and outcomes for all group members. Sophie earned her B.A.s in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Missouri and a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of South Florida. She completed her National Science Foundation postdoctoral fellowship at Rutgers University, Newark, which focused on broadening representation in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). She also collaborated with programs including the Garden State Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation and Mathematical Thinkers Like Me to improve STEM education across K-12 and higher education settings for underrepresented group members.
