Biography

Stephen recently left his consulting work in the UK as an educational technology consultant <www.stephen-atherton.com> based in his modest S.W. French HQ. He has worked as an educational technologist at two Australian universities, has been a classroom teacher, and was with Apple Australia for16 years as the ANZ Development Executive, Higher Education. In this role he engaged with the tertiary sector in Australia and New Zealand around collaborative research and teaching projects, consulting, and the professional development of tertiary education staff. 

Stephen joined D2L Australia in 2021 focussed on education sales for Australia and New Zealand. Despite his passion for technology he is often heard chanting his mantra (care of Prof Di Laurillard) “if you put technology first, learning comes second!”
