Steve Dalton

Biography

Steve Dalton serves as Preservation Manager within the Boston College (BC) Libraries. In that capacity, he oversees all activities designed to protect and preserve collections. In addition, he chairs the BC Libraries Digital Preservation Board and is actively engaged in digital preservation program development. Prior to joining the BC staff, Dalton spent nearly ten years as Director of Field Service at Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC), where he coordinated education and outreach efforts. At NEDCC, Dalton was one of the principal architects of the Center’s “School for Scanning” conferences, which have trained more than 4,000 people to create, manage, and preserve digital assets. He received his MLS from Simmons College in 1992 and also holds an MA in Religious Studies from Providence College.
