Steven Ackerman
Biography
Steve Ackerman is a professor in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is also Director of the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies. Steve is involved with campus wide IT education activities. He and colleagues have developed a number of tools to support on-line activities for specific courses (see http://profhorn.aos.wisc.edu/wxwise/AckermanKnox/) as well as tools that can be adapted to a variety of disciplines (see http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/sose/rco/). A long time user of technologies in teaching, he chairs the faculty advisory committee of the UW-Madison Engage Program in the Department of Academic Technology. The program provides funds to faculty and instructors for transforming teaching and learning through technology, by exploring, evaluating and disseminating best practices in teaching and learning with technology.EDUCAUSE Presentations
