Steve Baule

Biography

Steven M. Baule is an assistant professor in the Educational Leadership Department at UW-Superior. He was one of 120 superintendents invited to the White House in November 2014 for the White House Summit on Making American Schools #Future Ready. He was presented the Van Miller Distinguished Practitioner Scholar Award by IASA and University of Illinois in 2013. He was named of the Top Ten Technology Savvy Superintendents in 2010 by eSchool News. Baule served for 13 years as a superintendent in Illinois and Indiana. Prior to that, Baule served as a high school principal and assistant superintendent for information technology. Baule was the executive director of the New Trier Township Technology Cooperative, which provides wide-area-networking, e-mail and Internet services to New Trier and its six elementary sender districts. Dr. Baule was previously a high school administrator, a middle school library media specialist and a classroom teacher. Dr. Baule has presented on technology-related topics to a wide range of educators and librarians in the United States, Canada, England, and Australia. Dr. Baule served as an adjunct faculty member in educational administration, instructional technology, and library and information science programs at a number of Midwestern universities.
