Stuart Rice
Biography
Stuart Rice serves as the Executive Director, Learning Experience, in Arizona State University's Enterprise Technology unit.
Prior to this role, he served as the Senior Director of Learning Design for ASU CareerCatalyst. In his role, Stuart leads the design and development of CareerCatalyst’s learning products. He guides the team in leveraging processes that combine user and learner research, learning science, and compelling visual and experience design to create emotionally and intellectually engaging products.
Stuart served as the Director of Digital Initiatives in Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College prior to joining Learning Enterprise. He supported Dean Carol Basile’s vision of the Next Education Workforce and the associated training needs for professional and community educators.. To meet this need, Stuart developed the concept of nanocourses: 20-minute-or-less learning experiences focused on teaching a single skill to novice learners. As part of this work, he supported MLFTC’s early adoption of the (then) emerging Learning Enterprise concept.
In addition to his eight years of service to the university, Stuart and his family are also proud supporters of ASU. He established a scholarship in CISA’s pre-veterinary ABS program in memory of his sister using the New American University scholarship program. Stuart continues to the collaborate with the ASU Foundation to find additional opportunities to support Sun Devils achieving their personal and professional goals.
In addition to his existing Masters in Adult Education, Stuart is pursuing a second Masters in Human Systems Engineering with ASU’s Polytechnic School.
