Susan Anderson
Biography
Susan Anderson is a skilled and dedicated development professional with experience in higher education and community-based programming. Areas of particular interest include non-traditional college students, innovative approaches to adult and community education, and collaborative efforts between public higher education and community partners.
Susan’s experience includes twenty years in higher education in the Massachusetts community college system. She was the Assistant Vice President of for Institutional Advancement at North Shore Community College before joining Middlesex Community College in Fall 2014 as Dean of Resource Development. She has held previous positions with non-profit workforce and economic development agencies. Among her successful competitive applications are US Department of Education (TRIO programs, Title III and AANAPISI Strengthening Institutions programs, and FIPSE); US Department of State Fulbright Study Abroad; Massachusetts state agencies (MA DESE Adult Community Learning Centers, Dept of Higher Education Performance Incentive Fund, and MA Skills Capital grants); and numerous private foundations.
In 2018 she assumed leadership of a newly formed Institutional Effectiveness area at Middlesex that includes Institutional Research, Analytics, and Planning as well as Resource Development. Susan holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Smith College and a master’s degree in social work from Boston University.
