Susan Bowen

Biography

Susan joined The University of Scranton in 2016 as the Associate Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer responsible for the leadership and management of the strategic use of technology in support of the University’s mission and goals. She holds an Ed.D. in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in Business, both from The College of New Jersey. She is a graduate of the Institute of Educational Management at Harvard University and the Executive Leadership Institute sponsored by the League of Innovation.  

Prior to The University of Scranton, Susan served in several leadership positions within the information technology arena. Most recently, she served as the Executive Director for Information Technology Services at Mercer County Community College. Susan also served as the Chief Information Officer for both Camden County College and The Lawrenceville School and as Director of Information Technology Services at The College of New Jersey.

Susan has served on the Educause Mid-Atlantic conference planning committee, the New Jersey-based NJEDge Board of Trustees, and several other statewide affinity groups. Presently, Susan serves on the Board of Trustees of the statewide network in Pennsylvania KINBER.  Susan has presented at a number of regional and national conferences on technology innovation, project management, and organizational leadership.
