Susan Kerr

Biography

Susan Kerr is a results-oriented information technology manager with over 30 years of experience in higher education, over 19 of which were in various IT management roles leading up to the CIO role. She specializes in team focused leadership built on strong pillars of exceptional customer service, technical management, communication, and excellence. Her goal is to re-engineer the user experience through continuous process improvement and provide an organizational focus on analytics and proactive customer support. Through her experiences, Susan has gained valuable insights and knowledge of a diverse set of IT-related skills including networking, server management, ERP systems, learning management systems, and support services.

Before joining GCSU, Susan worked with Dynamic Campus, a company providing outsourced services to higher education institutions. In this role she served in various Director positions, as an Engagement Manager, and as CIO. Before joining Dynamic Campus, Susan served three years as Client Partner with Ellucian where she worked with clients in Florida and then Georgia to provide customer service and drive work order sales for professional services engagements. Previous work experience includes serving as Director of User Support Systems at Georgia Gwinnett College (managed all operations of technical support, including the Help Desk, computer technicians, and GGC Cell Phone Project); Director of Educational Technologies at Georgia Perimeter College (managed the strategic operations of the following areas: classroom and event technologies,distance learning technologies, course management system administration, instructional technology, help desk, training, desktop support, and open labs/computer classrooms); Instructional Design/Technology. Susan received her Bachelors Degree in Mathematics with an emphasis in Computer Science from Georgia Southern University and a Masters of Mathematics from the University of Georgia. She is currently on hold with a Doctorate of Adult Education with an emphasis in Leadership. She also has 10+ years of teaching experience at the collegiate level.
