Susan Simkowski

Biography

I am an associate professor of media communication at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. Prior to my arrival, I performed a variety of teaching assignments including Baton Rouge Community College, East Baton Rouge Parish School System, and Indiana State University. I also served as the Assistant Director of Educational Technology Services at Indiana State University (ISU), and, later, as the Associate Director of the Center for Instruction, Research, and Technology (CIRT) within the Office of Information Technology. I returned to Louisiana after being displaced due to Hurricane Katrina, where I was the Executive Director of the New Orleans Educational Telecommunications Consortium. I completed my Doctorate in Education at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI. My dissertation discussed mission statements and alignment between radio stations licensed to educational institutions and the broader learning organization. My M.A. in communication is from the University of WI-Stevens Point and bachelor’s in Radio-TV-Film is from the University of WI-Oshkosh.
